Airation Wastewater Equipment
The most effective biological wastewater treatment is the use of aerobic microorganisms (living in active sludge). The organisms require the presence of dissolved oxygen in the water and mixing to prevent the formation of anaerobic zones.
To create these conditions, rotor aerators of various designs are used. Aeration transfers air to the sludge mixture and stirs it.
For recirculation of active sludge, airlifts are used. The airlift pumps in compressed air. The airlift also works as a pump.
The usage of aeration equipment increases the efficiency of wastewater because aerobic biological treatment is fast.
Read MoreBioxica has extensive experience in implementing complex projects, from design to commission, including the supply and installation of aeration equipment such as air mixers and airlifts.
Airlift equipment is usually built during the installation of treatment facilities.
Our experts will design the airlift, including binding to the object. They will then supply the necessary materials and equipment for its production and carry out installation.
Drawing on our rich experience, Bioxica will help you choose air mixers by proven manufacturers and ensure their supply.
For aerating and mixing of sludge in the aeration tank, air mixes (pneumomechanical aerators) of various designs are used. They mix the sludge and saturate the sludge mixture.

Air is supplied to the air mixer through the blower. It enters the perforated aeration big-bubble module through the air distribution system. The mixer creates a powerful circulation flow, which splits large air bubbles and creates a water-air mixture flow with small bubbles that moves throughout the volume of the aeration tank.
Air Mixers are installed at the bottom of the tank, ensuring that the sediment in the bottom of the container is agitated and aerated, thus preventing the formation of stagnant zones.

Airlifts are used to recycle the activated sludge in wastewater treatment plants.
An airlift pumps liquid by means of compressed air. It operates as a pump, simultaneously aerating the water, which reduces the cost of the project and energy costs.
Scheme of the airlift
Airlift
The airlift is a vertical pipe lowered in water. In its lower part, the air is supplied under pressure, forming the air-water emulsion (a mixture of liquid and air bubbles), which rises up the tube due to the difference in specific gravities of liquids and emulsions. The more air that is contained in the bubbles, the more water they move.
The advantages are simple design, absence of moving parts, and permissible content of suspensions in the transported fluid.
The disadvantages include a relatively low efficiency, as well as the inability to lift liquid from shallow depths.
